MacGyver Was A Silly TV Show, Now It’s A Silly Movie
Wiktionary defines MacGyver as:
To assemble, or cause to be repaired or completed, an object, device, machine, or project from duct tape as the preferred repair tool, but in its absence, other items, (normally common, ordinary and mundane such as a rubber band or paper clip), not normally used for that purpose, where others would assume one needs a manufactured part, as per the design. Especially: if the items are used in ways significantly different than their intended use.
Even if you never saw MacGyver, there’s little doubt you know all about the premise about a secret agent who was so resourceful he could literally make anything out of anything. Sylvester Stallone Is Making The Greatest Movie Ever
After the moderate successes of Rambo and Rocky Balboa, Sylvester Stallone is continuing his trip down memory lane. He’s writing and directing a movie about mercenaries in South America attempting to overthrow an evil dictator- The Expendables. By all accounts the plot is as simple as the one sentence summary. It’s simple, but totally awesome. It reminds me of (obviously) Rambo, Missing in Action, Commando- all the great 80’s military-ish action movies.
But it’s not just the plot that kicks ass, it’s the cast. Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, and Dolph Lundgren have all already been announced. Nottingham, Starring Russell Crowe and Russell Crowe
Russell Crowe signed on long ago to play the Sheriff of Nottingham in Ridley Scott’s Nottingham, but finding someone to play Robin Hood has really drug out. The role would probably require a strong hand, since in this version of the Robin Hood legend Robin Hood is the villain and the Sheriff of Nottingham is the hero.
