The are few things that have gotten as tedious for me as watching horror movies. It seems all modern horror movies fit the same mold. There’s an interesting idea. A half-assed attempt to make us care about the victims (there aren’t really protagonists in horror movies any more, just victims and iconic psychopaths). There are a few atmospheric scares. Then the filmmakers run out of ideas and begin painting with bazookas, becoming more blunt and violent until the movie ends. There’s no actual ending, the movie just ends as the centimeter deep well of ideas is long past empty.
The Strangers was no different.

Do Movies Still Have The Power To Change Our Lives?
I’m going to make a couple assumptions here. First, that you have seen or don’t care about the ending of The Mist. It’s just those last few minutes of the movies to which I’ll be referring, so if you don’t care about the ending and still want to read on, you may want to catch up with a review of the movie. Second, I’m assuming that at one point it was expected that watching a movie could change your perspective on life and that generally speaking, those days are long behind us.

So, everybody loves a winner. Especially movie studios when that winner pulls in almost $600 million. In hopes of making another winner, Warner Brothers gave a green light to an I Am Legend prequel. The plan is for the story to cover the final days as the virus cleans out New York.
